Business rates
- No saving, no fee. If your rateable value isn't reduced, you pay nothing.
- No upfront or admin fees.
- No minimum size. We check every hospitality venue, whatever its rateable value, and there's no minimum fee.
- The saving is worked out from your rateable value before and after, using the government multipliers and the reliefs on your bill. Where your revised bills show a different figure, we use the revised bills.
- We invoice when your council's revised bill arrives, so any refund usually reaches you first. You then have 30 days to pay, by bank transfer.
- You can stop at any time before we submit a Challenge, without charge.
Worked example
- Venue
- Hotel, rateable value £150,000
- Outcome
- Rateable value reduced by 10% to £135,000, backdated to April 2026
- Saving to March 2029
- £19,350
- Our fee
- £2,902
- You keep
- £16,448
Illustration only. It uses the 2026/27 multiplier and ignores transitional relief. Many challenges don't succeed, and no outcome is guaranteed.
Comparing fees
A percentage means nothing without the period. "10% of three years' savings" costs the same as "30% of one year's". When you compare advisers, ask:
- What percentage, and of savings over what period?
- Is there any fee if the challenge fails, or for an "audit" or "review"?
- Is there a cap?
- Is the person signing off my case RICS, IRRV or Rating Surveyors' Association qualified?
